Description
Nestled between two large New York City apartment buildings, the elegant brownstone with the walled garden had always fascinated Cynthia Porter. She stopped often to admire it, and eventually she made the acquaintance of the gardener, who first mentioned the ghost to her.
Somehow it did not surprise Cynthia to learn that the graciously appointed house had a ghost. Nevertheless, she was startled one wintry day when a woman's face, pale and lovely, appeared in the window--too briefly for Cynthia's mind to verify without a doubt what her eyes had seen. Rather than frightening Cynthia, the glimpse of the unhappy ghost only served to reinforce her unexplainable attraction to the house and garden.
Also new to Cynthia--and strangely compelling--were the controversial paintings of Cedric Soren, and artist of international prominence. Once an art student herself, Cynthia had left art school when she realized that her talent was not substantial. But her appreciation for art was keen, and on her job as stylist for Krasner Fine Fabrics she exercised a discerning eye in matching designs with fabrics.
Cynthia slowly to discover, however, that her destiny did not lie in the business world. Rather, it was concealed behind the walls of a lovely garden, where two persons awaited her...one of them elusive, the other disarmingly real.
