When fashion designer Caroline Mercer discovers two of her drawings are missing, it's the latest in a series of disasters that leave her close to despair. Also, her colleague Brian is becoming very attentive, and Caroline is not sure she's ready for another commitment just yet. So when offered the chance of three months in the firm's Hong Kong office, she accepts at once.

Hong Kong offers more excitement than Caroline had hoped, and she almost forgets her problems in the stimulating company of young Chris Orwell, a government aide. But trouble returns concerning the missing designs.
