Sacramento County Sheriff's Detective Luke Masters is assigned one of the toughest cases of his career. He is tasked with investigating the murder of one of his own: Patrol Deputy Paul Stillhouse, killed on a lonely road in a rural section of the county. At first glance, things look straightforward - a young deputy killed because of drugs. But, as Luke and his partner, Wade Hayman, negotiate the many obstacles of the case, it takes one sinister turn after another. Can the detectives unravel the criminal web before more lives are lost?
