Redwood Ring — Jay Amberg

Redwoods thrive for centuries in the coastal regions of America's Pacific Northwest. Rooted by a river, they weather storms, survive ever more frequent floods, and resist fires, both those that spread along the ground and those that leap from ridge to ridge and crown to crown. Seeming to have no natural enemies, the trees endure increasing encroachment as they pass through thousands of seasons. Entwined at root and crown, they remind us that our lives, always separate and always interconnected with others, flow through time.
