Description
It was a tame affair as a rule, Fauldston's annual Festival, culminating in a procession to an ancient burial place known as Merlin's Mound. Tame, that is, until a dark stranger appeared in a little Scottish town and offered to organize the event. By and evocation of primitive rites, the newcomer Sinbad Mazeron soon makes the Festival over into a major tourist attraction. Despite the success, however, there are certain strange happenings that set the town on edge. Who is this Mazeron? What mysterious power makes people do his bidding? Surely there is more at stakes than his desire to impress a rich American “student of the unseen.” When an archaeological excavation threatens Merlin's Mound, blood is split before the Festival preparations can reach their astonishing climax.
