Description
The man who comes to Keavy's wedding bed is not her husband. The Irish lass married to be free as the wind, so she chose a groom in a faraway "dun" with no interest in either her or her bed...only to learn that in his keep, the law proclaims the king to be the one who performs the delicate task of the wedding night. Thus King Aengus appears, come to fulfill his First Night duty, and Keavy has to choose between accepting him or being bargained away once more. The man's touch is gentle and his kiss soft, and suddenly Keavy realizes what she's given up by marrying for convenience. She makes up her mind to marry the man who's introduced her to love.
