Description
It was with Max Lander's aunt that Shay had gone to work, but she soon found that it was Max Lander and his affairs that were occupying much of her time and thoughts. For Max's young sister Monique had left home and vanished without a trace and Shay found herself as much involved as any of them in the search for her. It was a worrying situation, and Shay wasn't helped by the fact that she just could not make up her mind about Max. Was he a sensitive, compassionate man, genuinely worried about his sister or was he a heartless monster who had been the main cause of Monique's running away? Shay just didn't know. All she was sure of was that, for better or worse, she loved him.
