Alex Cave is on vacation and hears a mayday from an oil tanker. An investigation finds the crew and 80,000 tons of crude oil have vanished. The crew is frozen to death 150 miles away. The Alaska pipeline and west coast refineries are suddenly empty. The national economy will be destroyed, and thousands of people will die. Can Alex Cave discover the secret before it's too late?
