Description
The movie in progress is based on a true episode, the story of a Native American victory over Spanish invaders. But some Indians deeply resent the movie company's filming on tribal land. Shooting has just begun when a deadly real-life scenario rapidly eclipses the one slated for the screen: the Indian authority who leased Santo Esteban Pueblo to Hollywood suddenly dies, and leading man Gregorio Velasquez is murdered.
Blind sculptor Mo Bowdre, whose beautiful Hopi girlfriend has a small role in the movie, is fascinated. It seems clear that someone wants to jinx the production, has a grudge against Velasquez, or both. But Mo's sensitive inner vision also tells him that the configuration is more complex. Who are the players and what are the stakes? Finding the answer tests Mo's brainpower to its limits....
