Attractive Amanda Whitby was thrilled about being asked to paint a portrait of young Edwin Bayne. Talented as she was, she felt lucky in getting the commission, lucky in being able to spend a week on a remote off-shore island in the Gulf of Mexico. Amanda felt lucky about a lot of things-except love. She'd followed her heart too many painful times and she wasn't going to let it happen again.
