Kay was looking around the home in Dunedin when she came to her great-aunt's bedroom: what was the portrait of Captain Pierre St Clair doing there? Before she can unravel the mystery a young Englishman claims that the Captain was his great-grandfather. As the story unfolds, Kay soon finds it hard to distinguish between the old love story and her own. And the two attractive men next door confuse the issue even more.
