Dragonslayer, Dragon Heart — Isobelle Cate

In Greek mythology, there were five Dragonslayers: Apollo, Jason, Cadmus, Perseus and Heracles. Stories of their feats gave birth to legends that brought both fear and awe.
Dragonslayer clans claimed these names for their own. Each clan had one Apollo, one Jason, one Perseus and so on. Each slayer also had a dragon they had to kill called the Omega.
This dragon was the guardian of a slayer's soul.
For centuries it remained this way. Slayers killed dragons. Dragons avenged the death of their kind by killing slayers.
Those who wrote the laws that caused the war between slayer and dragon didn't consider one thing.
That in the midst of the enmity they created, dragonslayers could fall in love with their dragons.
