Mari is asked to investigate a bog body and accompanying items. Her crew is off for the holidays when Mari is contacted by an acquaintance in the world of science to do a preliminary study. She meets with the man after agreeing to the proposal. Intrigued by the finds, she wants to know more. Out in the camper something stirs up Quinna's anger which Mari discovers when she returns to the motor home with the items in hand. What has the large cat up in arms? Someone is far more interested in the archeological treasures than they should be. Two security guards are to help keep Mari and the treasure safe. At home, she begins delving into the enigma which dropped into her lap. In her private barn, Mari works to reveal the secrets of the beautiful little bell. A winter snow storm pins both Mari and Quinna down in what should be her private sanctuary. Are they under siege? Will the treasure be lost to those seeking to steal it? Mari will need to use her wits and Quinna her teeth to keep safe as snow piles up and closes Scotland's country roads.
