Description
This marvellous book collects together the short stories Gladys Mitchell wrote over the years (1936 to 1956) for the London Evening Standard. Eight of the thirty-one stories feature the formidable Mrs Bradley, the rest are a mixture of crime stories told from a variety of perspectives.
All are enjoyable, though the Mrs Bradley ones shine most with that special magic. Of the Mrs Bradley stories, most feature George and one even includes Laura. Most of the stories are like a condensed Gladys Mitchell novel, with superb descriptions of the settings and the madcap adventures.
