Officer Responding — Gerald Duff

In The Officer Responding (a selection from the short story collection Fire Ants and Other Stories by Gerald Duff), a policewoman answers a call on Love Circle in Nashville and discovers the domestic disturbance involves a nerdy classmate from her old high school. She proceeds to rescue him from the situation he's suffering and in a few hours' time, she and her classmate end up in bed and in love on Love's Circle.
