The present governor of the state was controlled by the Mafia. The other candidate had the tapes to prove it. And he was going to use them in his campaign.

Then the candidate's daughter was kidnapped by the mob -- and the tapes were her ransom.

But the tapes had disappeared!

So Johnny Bordelon was hired to find them. He knew he needed all his wits about him. For he had to find the tapes before the Mafia ran out of patience. And killed the girl!
