Only the Badge is a novel about an engaging modern Western sheriff whose lover is murdered and he delves into who she really was. The answer is shocking and he has to decide between right and wrong to determine what to do about it. In the process, he grows as a person and a peace officer and is faced with a myriad of crimes to solve. He also begins, for the first time, to think he understands women. But, unlike the mysteries he solves, he still really does not have a clue.
