When a series of "accidents" befell the Crawling Stone Railroad Line, there was only one man qualified to track down the men responsible and clean them out of the Rocky Mountains. That man was Whispering Smith, a deceptively mild-mannered troubleshooter with an eagle eye and dead-on aim.

With the aid of McCloud, district superintendent for the railroad, Smith set out to collar the outlaws. It was a grudge fight on both sides, since Whispering Smith had a personal score to settle with Sinclair, the leader of the wreckers, and Sinclair was out to ruin the Crawling Stone Line in revenge for losing his job.

It would be a fight to the death--and perhaps no one would win!
