Solace and Grief — Foz Meadows

Solace is one of the Rare â€" people with supernatural Tricks who do their best to survive unnoticed. Raised in foster care, she understands little about who she is until her approaching birthday, when an encounter with a faceless man sends her off on her own.
She finds herself drawn to a small group of similar people subsisting in a squat in Sydney, among them Aleatory, who can summon lost things, Manx, who can turn into a cat, and Glide, who Internet seraphs both time and universal.
Solace herself is a vampire â€" by birth rather than bite, making her unique â€" who slowly realises that she is an important target for her family's old foes, bringing danger to her new friends.
