Lancaster's Folly, that strange, echoing, ugly house squatted high on a hill above the California coast. It was not the place to take a frail girl after a nervous breakdown, but it was Graham's house and that was where Ann wanted to be. Ann felt sure everything would be all right, because she was with the man she loved. But Ann was wrong. Murder and menace hung over the house like an evil, killing fog, and one sinister happening followed another until Ann began to wonder if she had ever really been sane.
