Description
Robin Nicholl had intended to do some sober thinking about his life whilst wandering the moorlands of Mull in the Hebrides. But, as he travels north, his curiosity is roused by four cheerful middle-aged women who describe themselves as widows. He seems fated to cross their trail at the London Airport, in Glasgow and in Oban. It is only when he gets to the island does he find what has brought them together to this unlikely spot. He also discovers what the solitary fair-haired girl in the hotel is supposed to be doing there, and later, when tragedy has struck, that widows sometimes have husbands...
