Love's Sweet Survey — Evelyn Martin

As a woman in a man's field, geologist Sydney Austin has to prove her ability on every geological survey, and the minute she meets Brian Coleman, who is to be her partner on her new assignment for Prescott Surveys in Florida, she knows that this job will be no different. In fact, Brian takes one look at her and says he's sure there has been a mistake.

Their assignment is to examine land from Tampa to Miami for sinkholes that could cause land collapse along the proposed right of way for a prospective monorail. They realize that it will be a grueling task, but they soon discover it is a dangerous one as well. Someone keeps setting deadly booby traps for them. They grow close as they work together, but even as Syd finds she's falling in love with Brian, she can't help wondering if he is the one responsible for the danger she finds herself in. Is it his way of trying to scare her off the job so that he can take the credit for it himself?
