Description
A Cursed Diamond?
Sonya Iverson, intrepid TV producer, is working on a story about the auction of the magnificent Braganza Diamond when the gem's owner, Wade Bruckheimer, is found dead -- poisoned, along with his parrot -- in his palatial apartment.
Wade had inherited the diamond from his beautiful, glamorous mother, Esperanza -- and had allowed his stepmother, Irina, to wear it. But Wade needs money to support his luxurious lifestyle, and selling the gem -- estimated to be worth at least $30 million -- seems the fastest way to get it.
Irina is angry and heartbroken -- she feels the diamond should be hers. Wade's uncle Jorge is furious that his beloved nephew can't see that family honor demands that the jewel be returned to Brazil and displayed in the national museum.
It's great television -- and the story only gets better once Wade is murdered. Suspects abound -- not just those intent on the diamond, but others who had personal reasons to dislike the murdered man. Sonya's interviews may hold the key to solving Wade's murder . . . which makes her not just a sleuth, but the killer's next target!
