The Rocking Stone — Eileen Turland

Kate Vernon is summoned to Spain by her sister, Louise, who has been frightened by a strange incident at the ranch where she lives with her husband, Roberto Segura.

As soon as she arrives at the hacienda, Kate discovers that someone is trying to harm her sister. She is determined to locate the culprit but must turn for help to Miguel Varela, a Spanish matador with whom she was once romantically involved. Although he now seems hostile and somewhat remote, he offers his assistance and the two are thrown together in their search for the unknown assailant.

There are several more unsuccessful attempts on Louise's life and, eventually Kate finds herself in danger as she comes face to face with the culprit. It is only after Kate narrowly escapes death that she learns the truth about the series of incidents and rediscovers the love she thought was forever lost.
