Description
In an era of ideological extremes, Brother Anseau is called to halt the growing Cathar heresy. A pious Cistercian monk, Anseau is called to join the Papal Legate to tour Southern France debating the Cathars. At first, Anseau follows his vows as an obedient monk, ignoring his heart when the legate takes a hard line against the heretics. But after his retinue is attacked, and Anseau is the sole survivor, he searches his heart; he searches for the truth. He discovers an underlying plot by the Pope to launch a crusade that could annihilate southern France.
