In the beginning, they were known simply as the Temple, devout missionaries who aspired to please God and serve the indigent of Africa. Two hundred and fifty years later, the organization was international and had evolved into a limited partnership of attorneys, who worshiped money, not God, served criminals instead of the poor, and used Slingers to enforce their will. They had no address, assets, or employees and were not listed in any public directories.Vanguard Temple was as secretive as the organizations they represented and just as dangerous.
