The Swarm of Heaven — Derek Wilson

In pursuit of a private vendetta, the young Niccolo Machiavelli leaves his beloved Florence in the grips of the fanatical friar, Savonarola, and travels to Rome only to be lured into the service of Pope Alexander VI and his ambitious son Cesare. This new employment will lead him into some surprising situations, and the more Machiavelli probes, the more sinister the plots and intrigues become.
