Deborah Marcero received her BFA in drawing and photography from the University of Michigan, and her MFA in poetry from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her debut childrens picture book, Ursa s Light, received a Starred Review from Booklist, which described it as ''a visual standout.''
