Absence — Dean Murray

Lacy has been fooling herself for years. She'd nearly convinced herself she's happy with just being Dan's friend, but as they've begun drifting apart she's realized she's losing more than just her best friend.

**Author's Note: In the spirit of full disclosure, this is a short story-a tad under 1700 words. I think it's still an enjoyable read and worth the $.99, but I wouldn't want anyone to be surprised at its brevity. I've added in an extract from my upcoming novel, Torn, as a bonus.
