Description
An anthology of five short stories set in the universe of Apocalypse Atlanta.

The common thread is the zombies. Each story looks at a different little slice of the apocalypse as it gets going for that particular character, or set of characters. Little bite sized chunks of it.

Is that a dinner bell?

"Better to be Lucky" follows the first few hours of the apocalypse as lived by a company of military police. Being a MP, even in the apocalypse, is much like any other job in the military. Lots of boredom with occasional flashes of sheer, howling terror.

"Marching through the Apocalypse" tells the story of some of the most genre aware people in Atlanta when the dinner bell starts ringing. For these folks, it wasn't so much who they were or where, but rather what they were wearing when it all starts.

"There goes the Weekend" follows a bail bondsman â€" er, woman â€" as she hunts up a recalcitrant wife beater. Bail bond work can be boring or interesting; boring is usually profitable, while interesting can at least be fun. But there is such a thing as too much fun.

"Smoke ‘em if you've got ‘em" follows a pair of roommates who find out one of the benefits of an apocalypse is the rules change when zombies start eating people.

"A little me time" gives us a man who enjoys the outdoors whenever he has the chance to get away from it all. Really, really away. Like on top of a mountain away. But this year, when he comes down from spending a week alone on the slopes, he finds everything has gone straight to hell in his absence.
