Children convicted of killing other children grow up in incarceration and as adults they're given a fresh identity and a new start in a different part of the country from where they committed their heinous crimes.
But someone is leaking that information and blowing their cover. Not to a vigilante group but to one individual who is then delivering their own form of justice.
At the same time teenage boys are being abducted and disappearing. The city is in fear of a pretty nasty paedophile and Barton and his team are drawn into a dark underworld where anyone can get anything they want even if it is beyond all the thinking of reasonable people.
But who is the killer and what is their link with the paedophile?
Can both of them be caught before the murders are stopped and the city's teenage boys can walk around without fear again?
And will it happen before Barton himself comes closer than he's ever done before to questioning the very laws he's meant to uphold?
