Michael Tuner is a successful author from Chicago. He lives in Saint Louis with a number of secrets that have eaten away at him for years. As he gets older, He wonders to himself why all his relationships with women seem to fail. His world is shaken when his sister calls with the news of his mother being diagnosed with cancer. He's been estranged from his mother for more than twenty years. Now he must return to Chicago to confront family secrets and internal demons. He discovers that he can't move forward without reconciling hurts from the past. He finds out who he really is and also finds faith as he tries to find the courage to forgive his mother for the secrets they both have kept from the rest of the world, and the pain they have both inflicted on one another.
