Please Note: 100% of the proceeds from this book will be donated to NHS charities in the United Kingdom. Thank you for supporting the many key-workers who have literally put their lives on the line to provide aid to those unfortunately impacted by the COVID-19 virus. This book will be available for a limited time only. For anyone familiar with the characters and situations from the Above His Station series of books, this is another off-the-wall mini-adventure set right now during these strange and impossible times. Witness how the Station Guard of Regal Street, someone accustomed to solitude, reacts to being locked down when it comes to worrying about the health of his children (particularly his daughter Claire, a full-time nurse working on the front-line for the NHS during this crisis.) For those of you less familiar, whilst obeying social distancing, all Neville Browning wants to do is see his children's faces, so he enlists the aid of his foul-mouthed rodent companion to download an app to his phone to enable communication in these uncertain (and unprecedented) times. But just like any situation where the rat is involved, nothing is textbook, and the Station Guard must not only overcome his technophobia and embrace his (admittedly) limited knowledge of how to use a smart phone, but face seemingly insurmountable challenges to complete his task, such as: Getting a wi-fi signal to connect to the Google Play Store!!Successfully locating and downloading the Zoom app!!!Accessing his Contacts List to send the meeting URL to his kids!!!!Learning how to take himself off mute before speaking!!!!! And along the way, YOU (dear reader) will be treated to heart-warming trips down memory lane, plenty of sarcastic quips and bawdy innuendos and a healthy dose of extremely bad language, all set against a backdrop of lament due to all the KFC outlets currently being closed and other critical considerations such as whether Roy Walker is funnier than The Two Ronnies.... Strange times, indeed.
