Visions of Jude — Daniel Poliquin

He is famous, wealthy, successful and esteemed. But his personal life reveals another side of the man - one that gradually undermines the glory of his public persona.

One by one, four women to whom Jude has been important tell his story. Through the eyes of Marie, a young widow, Maud, a musician, Madame Elizabeth, who runs a literary salon, and Véronique, a very contemporary teenager, a more complex human being emerges.

In this, his third novel, Daniel Poliquin has portrayed a late twentieth-century antihero. But he has also captured the voices of four distinctive women, each in love with Jude for different reasons.

Visions of Jude won the prestigious Grand Prix de Roman du Journal de Montréal in 1990, the Le Droit literary award and the Ottawa-Carlton Literary Award.
