Description
PreS-K-Providing examples without a definition or an introduction, these small concept books examine several places where a particular shape can be found. Each spread has a short sentence opposite a full-color photograph. The subjects of the clear pictures are easily recognizable. Back matter includes thumbnail copies of the photos with the shape outlined. Rau uses simple words, but each sentence starts with the name of the shape being discussed, a format that becomes tiresome. Sarah Schuette's A+ Shape Books (Capstone) are more appealing as they have bigger pictures, rhyming texts, an activity, and information for adults.-Sandra Welzenbach, Villarreal Elementary School, San Antonio, TX Copyright 2007 Reed Business Information.
