Susan Durrell got a call from her friend Jane Prall, she wanted Susan to visit her on Martha's Vineyard. Susan impulsively agreed to Jane's suggestion. While Susan is waiting to board a ferry, a twisted game begins. After Susan arrives at Jane's family home, the twisted game continues.

Susan meets Jane's family, but there is no sign of Jane, which she finds odd though she doesn't say anything about it. When they refer to her as Jane, she decides to think she just misheard and keep quiet.
