Hazel's gift for giving suitable names to creatures forms the backbone of her tribulations, as well as good fortune.Her best friends are a herd of five seahorses. As you know, seahorses are constantly hungry, spend their lives eating and lingering around. Hazel named her seahorse friends Hungry & Famished (a pair), Gluttonous & Ravenous (a pair) and Linger (still single...). Hazel's beloved husband-to-be, Dean, disappeared in a big storm while diving for pearls, as a wedding gift to her. Three years went by before Hazel finally stopped searching for Dean. In an unexpected turn of events the five seahorses meet Aestus, the Tide Master, who happen to know what became of Dean. Aestus then takes Hazel to the deepest region of the ocean, in search of Dean and the giant Barreleye fish. Another seemingly insurmountable challenge awaits them there, but Hazel's gift for giving suitable names eventually saves the day.
