Description
There have been a thousand tales of future Utopias and possible civilizations. They have been ruled by benevolent dictatorships and pure democracies, every form of government from extreme right to absolute left. Unique among these is the easy-going semi-anarchistic society ruled by THE SYNDIC.
THE SYNDIC AND OTHER SCIENCE FICTION ADVENTURES contains one novel and two other works by science fiction writer C.M. Kornbluth (1923-1958). As a teenager, Kornbluth was a member of the Futurians, an influential group of science fiction fans and writers. While a member of the Futurians, he met and became friends with Isaac Asimov, Frederik Pohl, Donald A. Wollheim, Robert A. W. Lowndes, and his future wife Mary Byers. He also participated in the Fantasy Amateur Press Association. Kornbluth is best known for his dystopian short story, THE MARCHING MORONS and several collaborations with other science fiction writers, notably Frederick Pohl.
