Animal behaviorist and pet psychic Pru Marlowe is working overtime to clear an innocent friend of murder.

In this case, the suspect is a sweet pit bull named Lily, and the victim is Pru's client Charles, a computer programmer. When Pru arrived for a training session, she found the terrified pup standing over Charles's body, and his throat had been mauled. It's an open-and-shut case for the cops, but Pru knows better.

Lily is being framed. It's a clever ruse, so Pru needs to figure out who wanted Charles dead. His private life, with an ailing mother, worried fiancée and secretive business partner, leads her on a trail of mystery buried in her pretty Berkshire hometown. But clearing Lily's name leads Pru much too close to a killer who will murder again to let sleeping dogs lie.
