THE VOICE IN THE SHADOWS
The bolt clattered, the huge door swung open, and Jeffrey loomed in the deep shadows.
"Let me in, Jeffrey," Harriet pleaded.
"I've never seen you before in my life."
"I'm your wife," she cried hysterically. "Your wife Harriet."
"You're crazy," was his distant reply. "My wife is here."
And then a woman appeared on the stairs. "Who is it, darling?" she asked, in a hauntingly familiar voice.
She's wearing my housecoat, Harriet thought wildly. My blue housecoat. And it fits her!
