New Kid in Town — Claire Freedman

Mouse is the New Kid in Town. His curious neighbors welcome him with apricot muffins and exciting games. But Mouse's new friends caution him about Big Wolf, who lives on the hill above the town. Mouse ignores their warnings and ventures out to meet the legendary creature for himself. He quickly discovers there's more to Big Wolf than his scary yellow eyes and his slimy green teeth. Sometimes it takes the New Kid in Town to see things in a different light. Very engaging.
