Don Maywood was not the only person who had a lot riding on the outcome of the season opening race. Sitting in the stands directly across from the press box while listening to the radio broadcast, a pair of vengeful eyes watched Maywood through a pair of binoculars. The crashes and sluggish ending had brought grim satisfaction. Now, the dejection he saw in Don's face was the piece de resistance. The man raised a beer in salute and smiled.
