THE INTRUDER

Tom and Esther Gardner were snugly settled in their hotel room when a drunken stranger stepped in. Tom grappled violently with him, and a blow sent the intruder to the floor.

When that intruder died, the Gardners froze with guilt -- and Esther wondered if life would ever be the same. But when the widow of the dead man and her sullen, invalid sister moved into the Gardner's home, Esther's fears proved to be tame compared to what lay ahead.
