Every summer Betsy and her friends play in the summerhouse. Now it's boarded up, so Betsy's father builds her a special winterhouse in the basement.

Hurray! Betsy, Ellen, and Billy can keep the cold out and the fun inside as they plan a New Year's party and prepare a musical puppet show. In the middle of these plans they find a stray cat and two kittens in the washing machine. What will they do with the cats?
