IF HE'S LUCKY, SHE WON'T TURN HIM INTO A FROG....
It's not surprising that the daughter of a witch and a wizard has some innate magical aptitude, and Daimbert is more than willing to nurture her talent. But he's finding he also has to play dad to the rest of the younger generation of Yurt. The duchess' stubborn twin daughters want to be respectively a knight and a priest, careers closed to women, and young King Paul is balking at marrying a perfectly respectable woman and wants to run away with the cook's daughter.
Daimbert also has to deal with an exotic eastern princess seeking sanctuary in Yurt, accompanied only by her elephant, a metallic automaton and a flying carpet; an army of undead warriors; an evil spell that attacks him personally; and an enormous fenris-wolf who just might finish him off. But worst of all is Cyrus, aa bogus miracle worker who just happens to be working for Vlad, an evil wizard from the east who has long sought vengeance against Yurt. Because Cyrus has the power to influence children--and he uses this to pipe them all--including Daimbert's daughter--out of town, and into the hands of Vlad....
