Happy is five year-old Sydney's new imaginary friend. Sydney promised Happy that she wouldn't tell her mother about him because Happy doesn't like adults. That's why he only comes around at night, through Sydney's window, when Caroline is nowhere around. Unfortunately for Sydney, she slips and tells Caroline about Happy and now he isn't so happy anymore. And later that night, after seeing a shocking news break on television, Caroline finds out that he isn't so imaginary either. Alone in their secluded farmhouse, a secret she had long worried might resurface has somehow found its way back to Caroline.
