By the end of the 2030's Maria has come to the end of the road. Two decades of hard work with the environmental organization G², Guardians of Gaia, has not achieved the desired change to the spirit of international society. Global warming is now a fact with flooded cities, millions of refugees and nature is near collapse. Thus, Maria bets everything on one shot: an extreme solution to take place in the Artic that should cool down a planet suffering from a heatstroke. But can man use his ingenuity to stop the catastrophe or will he only use it for short-term benefits? In the meantime, Maria is unaware that her former colleague, Atash, counts on her success to fulfill his own agenda based on his prophecies. Once a dedicated physician and environmentalist, his personal losses have filled him with too much anger and darkness. Atash is prepared to go even further than Maria but how far is too far? When things appear to work according to plan, betrayal from the one closest to the heart, simple mistakes and unexpected events turn the dice once more... Her path takes Maria back to her beloved Cuba as the twilight dawns on the planet and the first signs of the approaching autumn become visible...
