1914. In a world far different from our own, the great nations of America and Europe are divided into two great alliance systems -- the “Continental Entente” led by the French Empire and the Confederate States of America, and the “Grand Alliance” led by Great Britain and the United States, while in the background Mother Russia stands alone. In the isthmus of Panama, the Confederacy and France are on the verge of completing a canal that will connect the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, much to the chagrin of their international rivals. When the governments in Richmond and Paris repudiate longstanding international agreements concerning the canal (in response to a Grand Alliance trade embargo against the still slaveholding Confederacy) the enraged leaders of the United States and Great Britain turn to a bold but dangerous plan. It is a plan conceived by Britain's daring First Lord of the Admiralty, Sir Winston Churchill and which threatens to plunge the entire world into war…

In the United States and Europe a never ending gilded age reigns supreme and longstanding class divisions and injustices simmer volatilely under the surface and threaten to erupt into violence. And in the Confederate States of America, the institution of slavery is on its last miserable leg.
It is a frightening time. Airships and aeroplanes roam the skies. Massive Battleships and lethal submarines prowl the seas. And on land new weapons like armored cars, machine guns, and advanced artillery threaten to wreak a slaughter greater than any in the annals of human history.
