Peace can be as hard to win as war and nobody knew that as well as Mackie, the military scout, who had struggled to bring peace to the frontier. Now all was thrown into jeopardy by the criminal ambitions of one man, who thought nothing of unleashing an Indian war, regardless of the terrible consequences.
