At the age of sixteen, Jillian Taylor won a beauty contest and left her family, her home, and her Church to go to New York to become a model. She never looked back.

Eight years later -washed up and broke- Jillian is ashamed to admit to failure. When her father dies unexpectedly of a heart attack, she has to borrow money for plane fare to go home. Although her world has completely fallen apart, Jillian is determined to keep up appearances.

Jillian's old boyfriend, Randy Prescott, is delighted to see her. But his cousin Luke is less enthused. Luke has always thought that Jillian was superficial; worse, she turned her back on her father when he needed her. Worried that she will break Randy's heart again, Luke warns Jillian to leave town.
